Although Gospel music has been pertinent in Zimbabwe for decades, recent times have led to a resurgence in popularity for the religious music. Choir acts such as Harare West, and St. Luke's, as well as veterans such as the Holy Spirits, and Machanic Manyeruke and the Puritans. New artists such as Mai Charamba and Fishers of Men have also garnered a large following at home.

R & B

ZimSite >> Shamiso
>> Zimnites
African Hip Hop >> Zimbabwe

R & B and Hip Hop have been on the rise in recent years. As the slick urban sounds of Kwaito from South Africa, Rap and Hip Hop from the United States, and dance music from Europe have influenced a whole new generation. From the early 90s suprise US hit Zimbabwe Legit, to current R & B influenced up-and-comers such as David Chifunyise, Hip Hop is gaining new ground in the Zim music scene. Rap is also growing in popularity, with new groups such as Bantu Huntaz and Madd Flavah. Harare and Bulawayo have ever-expanding DJ scenes, with electronica a hit with the dance crowd.
